About
Edu-Tours Program

Billy Tea Safari's with our sister company Down Under Cruise and Dive are delighted to present our Edu-Tours Program; a unique educational custom-designed program combining the best the region has to offer.

Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the oldest Rainforest in the world, the Tablelands and the iconic Aussie Outback. With easy access to these UNESCO World Heritage sites on our doorstep, the Cairns region is the perfect one-stop destination for domestic and international students and groups who want to learn, contribute and make a positive environmental impact on the world.

Sustainability is not just something we do. It’s who we are. And our goal is simple: to protect our backyard for years to come. But we can’t do it alone… So, grab your backpack because we are going on an environmental travel adventure!

Where will you travel to?

You can custom-design your own Edu-Tours Program! As a multi-product tour operator, we provide a unique opportunity to be able to package as many major environmental sites of the region as you wish. Let us know what you had in mind and we can create a custom package for you.

  • The Great Barrier Reef
  • The Australian Outback
  • The Ancient Rainforest
  • The Natural Tablelands

We also offer the opportunity to stay over-night in any of our locations for an extended experience.

Who can participate?

Our custom, comfy 4x4s can go anywhere, any time of year.

The program has been developed alongside the current Australian and International Baccalaureate Curriculum and caters for students and groups of all ages including:

  • Primary School Students
  • High School Students
  • University Students
  • Research Groups
  • And Leisure Groups that want to add an extra touch to their normal holiday by making a positive environmental impact

Upon completion, all participants will receive a certificate of participation to recognise their involvement in the program.

Who will be your host for the day?

We love our friendly tour guides. They are all passionate about our environment and love answering questions.

You will experience the beauty and vulnerability of nature and learn from our marine biologist and Wet Tropics accredited tour guide.

Reef: Our team of dedicated Marine Biologists are actively engaged in conservation work on the Great Barrier Reef and will share information throughout the day on the reef ecosystem including how it came to be and how we can work together to protect the Great Barrier Reef for generations to come.

Rainforest, Tablelands & Outback: All our drivers are local accredited Wet Tropics guides which means they have years of local knowledge and experience specialising knowledge of history, local aboriginal culture, all aspects of flora and fauna and in-depth knowledge of our wonderful World Heritage Rainforest and Outback, Tablelands.

Group size:

Minimum 10 participants.

How to book:
