What is your cancellation policy for the 2 Day Reef & Rainforest Tour?
Full refunds are available for customers who cancel their trip up to 18 hours before travel (2 pm the day before travel). If you cancel within the 18 hours before travel, no refund will be issued. Rebooking fees of $50 also apply.
If your preferred travel date is cancelled by us, we will rebook you on the next available departure date at no additional cost to you. For more information on booking changes and other options, contact our Reservations team via email: or phone: 07 4032 0077.
If you booked through a third-party travel agent, please contact your agent directly regarding your refund or rebooking request first. Can I do the reef and rainforest tours on different days?
Yes, you can. During check-out, please choose your first date as your reef tour. Then on the following page, select your rainforest tour date. Once booked, if you need to amend your days, please contact our reservations team by phone 07 4052 8300 or email . Multi-Day Tours and Packages do not need to be booked on consecutive days.
Is this reef and rainforest tour suitable for families or kids?
Yes, our tours are great for families. We have a discounted rate for families of 2 Adults and 2 Children (4 -16 years). Infants (0-3 years) are free of charge. We have flotation devices available and snorkel supervisors in the water and on the lookout for any assistance on our reef cruise. On our Rainforest Tour, we have booster seats for children, please notify reservations after booking.
What time does the Daintree Rainforest tour start and end?
- Cairns City (CBD) accommodation: pick up between 7.00 – 7.15am, returns 6.30pm
- Northern Beaches accommodation: pick up between 7.20 – 7.45am, returns 6pm
- Port Douglas accommodation: pick up 8.20am, returns approx 4.00 – 4.30pm

How many people are on this reef and rainforest tour?
The Daintree Rainforest Tour will carry up to 20 passengers. We keep our numbers small to create a more personalised experience. Note that during busy periods we often have more than one vehicle touring in the Daintree, so you may see a couple of buses out and about. The Reef Cruise will have up to 160 passengers during our busy periods. This is a large vessel with two indoor saloon areas and three spacious outer decks, so there is plenty of room.
What should I bring for the reef cruise and rainforest tour?
- Rainforest Tour: Hat, sunscreen, camera, phone, water bottle with water, towel and swimming costume (if you plan to swim), insect repellent, extra cash/credit card for additional drinks, raincoat or umbrella in our rainy season (December - March).
- Reef Cruise: swimmers, change of clothes, hat, sunscreen, water bottle with water, towel, cash/credit card for additional drinks and snacks at the bar.
What should I wear on this 2-day Cairns tour package?
- Rainforest Tour: As we are in a tropical environment, please wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes or sandals. In our winter months (July to August) you may wish to take a light coat/jacket. No thongs (flip flops) or high heels as there is uneven ground and you will be in the rainforest.
- Reef Tour: dress like you are going to the beach. Swimmers, towel, change of clothes and a hat.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
All dietary requirements must be notified at the time of reservation, or at least 48 hours' notice before travel. We cater for most dietary requirements on both tours.
Is this tour wheelchair or accessibility friendly?
- Rainforest Tour: Due to the remoteness, the ruggedness of the area, steps and uneven ground on the National Park Boardwalks and into Emmagen Creek, passengers must be able to take walking steps by themselves or with the aid of their own carer. Wheelchairs must be small, compact, collapsible chairs, as space is limited. This must be checked at the time of reservation and confirmed at least 48 hours before the tour. Billy Tea Staff are unable to assist with any lifting or assistance due to insurance liability and not being the authorised carer.
- Reef Cruise: While every effort has been made to be inclusive, due to the nature of the operation and unpredictability of weather and sea state, it is often unsafe to cater to all accessibility differences. Due to this, we ask anyone who may require alternate access or special consideration to contact our reservations team directly to discuss the specifics of their needs. What level of fitness is required for this reef and rainforest package?
- Rainforest Tour: The Daintree Rainforest Tour requires a beginner's level of fitness. The boardwalk tour through the rainforest with your guide is at a very leisurely pace and is approximately a 1km round trip. If you prefer to wait for the group to return, there is a seating area at the entrance of this boardwalk for you to wait for the group to return.
- Reef Cruise: You will require a beginner's level of fitness for the reef cruise. If you plan to snorkel, you will require a basic level of fitness and you must be able to swim. Scuba diving can be strenuous under certain conditions. Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health. All body spaces must be normal and healthy. Please review our Scuba Diving Waiver before travel.
